Pistorius, during a visit to Kyiv, said that "a world without Putin would be better for us," RIA Novosti reports.

“As for the statements of the new Minister of Defense of Germany, whose last name I have not yet learned, we have heard a lot of boorish statements from German politicians,” Lavrov said.

According to him, before discussing who should get rid of, Pistorius needs to study his colleagues from Western countries and pay attention to internal German politics.

Lavrov added that the West, pursuing a policy of pumping weapons to Ukraine, believes that "the world would be better without Russia, without a defeated Russia."

He also stressed that such statements have already "once in history been heard from German soil."

“Do you remember how it all ended,” the minister summed up.

Earlier, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that the prospects for peace would be closer if Western countries stop arming Ukraine.

According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, the EU is investing not in settling, but in prolonging the conflict in Ukraine.
