Agents of the National Police have arrested a
25-year-old man
as
the alleged perpetrator of a crime of sexual assault
on a
minor under 17 years of age
, whom he allegedly
forced to have sexual relations in the middle of a public thoroughfare in Burjassot
(
Valencia
).
The victim and the alleged attacker then got into a taxi whose driver
she was able to ask for help at one point during the journey
and the taxi driver took them directly to the Paterna Police Station, where the alleged perpetrator was detained.
As reported by the Superior Police Headquarters, the events allegedly occurred in the early hours of last Sunday.
The young woman met the suspect in a nightclub in Valencia
from which, to return home, in a nearby town, she asked for a taxi.
Getting into her car, the man followed her and sat next to her in the vehicle.
As they did not have enough money to complete the entire journey
, the taxi dropped them off at a point in the town of
Burjassot
.
It was there that, on a public highway, among some bushes,
the man allegedly forced the young woman to have sexual relations
, pulling down her pants and trying to penetrate her vaginally, without success due to the resistance that the adolescent put up.
After the event,
the victim, very nervous, was able to catch another taxi
and
quickly got into the passenger seat
.
The alleged assailant followed her again and sat in the back of the vehicle.
However, the minor was able to ask the driver for help at a given time on the journey.
The taxi driver, seeing the "high degree of nervousness" in which the victim was and upon request for help, decided to take them to the nearest National Police Station, in Paterna.
Once there,
the taxi driver alerted the agents and the victim told them what had happened
, which led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator of the events while she was transferred to a health center to be treated.
Agents of the Scientific Police went to the place where the events occurred to carry out the corresponding visual inspection, and where they located a used condom.
The
arrested man, of Algerian nationality, with a police record and in an irregular situation in Spain
, has gone to court, which has ordered his entry into prison.
