SCMP: Taiwan tests missile capable of reaching China's eastern and central cities

The material says that the missile is an extended-range version of the Hsiung Feng IIE cruise missile.

It is capable of hitting targets at distances up to 1,200 kilometers, which, according to the publication, is far enough to reach major cities on the mainland - such as Qingdao on the east coast or Wuhan in the center of the country.

Earlier, the Global Times reported that China could give a strategic response if US missiles were deployed on Japanese territory near Taiwan.
