Preparing for the last part of your career

"At 45, you have biases, you don't project yourself into your senior life. But it's a good time to start anticipating what may happen in your career. It's the assessment of your skills, but that should be seen as a check up. What have I learned? What can I do in the future and where can I go? I think it's important . When it's 55, it's a little too late to take stock of that. 45, it's a good time to see what options you have in front of you," said the President France of Adecco Group at the microphone of Elisabeth Assayag.

In the coming weeks, the Adecco company should announce concrete solutions for seniors and preparation for their last part of their career.

"At the end of your career, you are told that you are expired as if people have an expiry date. It does not work. You have to think in terms of your journey. In the Adecco group, that's what it is. is what we want to do with our 550,000 temporary workers and our own teams: think in terms of career paths. That's why this notion of analogy, if you want a mid-term check-up, seemed good to me", reported Alexandre Viros.

Anticipate the risks

"It's the time when you can correct a certain number of things or realize that there are certain difficulties in terms of health. It's the moment when you can realize that there are going to be risks. and you anticipate them. It's better to do it now than later," he added.

For him, we live in a world where skills, in a given profession, are obsolete after two or three years.

"If we take forklift jobs for example, we have gone from jobs that were essentially manual, very physical, then driving jobs, then jobs where in some cases you have to handle a tablet and why not tomorrow a piece of code Here too, we need permanent support. I think that we have a responsibility as bosses to support employees. For too long we have given in to a form of youthism, saying that it is very good to already have young people. And at the same time, we said to ourselves that the seniors were out of date and that they had to be put out", concluded Alexandre Viros.
