According to TASS, Nebenzya said this during a speech at a meeting of the UN Security Council, which was convened at the initiative of the Russian side.
“It’s not even about new calls by Russophobic politicians to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, which, as we all understand, Ukraine is not able to inflict by itself,” the diplomat said.
Earlier, the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that NATO was raising the stakes in the confrontation in the Ukrainian conflict, dreaming of a strategic defeat for Russia.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov noted that Moscow would oppose Washington's line of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia.
