Boat owner Staffan in Ronneby on increasing boat thefts: "Feels dejected"

Last year someone tried to break into Staffan Stranne's boat - and earlier he got rid of a brand new boat engine.

The engine was bought on credit for approximately SEK 10,000.

- I hadn't even had time to pay for it when it was stolen, so it was a bit sad to have to pay that money afterwards, he says.

Increases throughout the South region

According to statistics from the Crime Prevention Council, boat-related thefts increased in the South region, which includes Blekinge, last year.

Among other things, 361 thefts from boats were reported, which is an increase of 22 percent compared to the year before.

Thefts of boat engines and entire boats have also increased.
