The incident occurred at a health center in Karlskrona last fall.

The mix-up meant that antibiotics were prescribed to the wrong person and the patient's treatment was therefore delayed.

According to the report, the fact that the antibiotic treatment was delayed may have contributed to complications later arising.

The patient developed a deep infection that required hospitalization and a long course of antibiotic treatment.

According to the report, the woman also ran a high risk of infection spreading, which in the worst case could have caused a brain abscess.

The incident is reported to the Inspectorate for Care and Care, IVO.
