The Constitutional Democratic Party and the Japan Restoration Party held a joint study session on soaring energy prices such as electricity rates, and confirmed that they would consider new countermeasures, saying that the government's measures to reduce the burden were insufficient.

The Constitutional Democratic Party and the Japan Restoration Party, which are collaborating in the regular Diet session, held a joint study session for the first time on the 7th in the Diet on soaring energy prices.

In this context, both parties shared the recognition that the government's measures to reduce the burden on businesses through subsidies may not benefit consumers and are insufficient.

On top of that, we confirmed the policy of considering new countermeasures, saying that it is necessary to have a mechanism that directly reduces the burden on households and promotes efforts such as power saving.

On the other hand, since the two parties have different views on medium- to long-term stable energy supply measures such as nuclear power generation, the policy is not to discuss them for the time being.

Nagatsuma, chairman of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan's political affairs research, said, ``Electricity prices are expected to be in a difficult situation from April, so we will hit the government with measures that will produce results in the short term.''

In addition, Otokita, chairman of the Japan Restoration Party's political affairs research group, said, "It is the role of the opposition party to come up with a countermeasure that will receive solid support from consumers."
