According to him, in the near future the Armed Forces of Ukraine will retreat from the city.

“Because the losses that we bear there are incommensurable with the tasks that we set,” Yagun explained.

He added that the retreat from Bakhmut would be a strategic setback for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because the Ukrainian army would "lose some heights."

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that in January, Ukrainian troops lost more than 6.5 thousand military personnel, 26 aircraft and seven helicopters.
