FSB: Islamist cell destroyed in Moscow and Krasnoyarsk

“The activities of the interregional cell of the international terrorist organization Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad have been suppressed,” the report says.

According to the agency, the Islamists detained in Russia recruited and transported militants to Syria, called for terrorist attacks.

Earlier, the FSB of Russia, together with the Russian Guard, stopped the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami cell **, six members of the terrorist organization were detained.

* "Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad" - the organization was recognized as a terrorist organization by the decision of the Moscow District Military Court of 06/05/2019.

** "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami" ("Islamic Liberation Party") - the organization was recognized as a terrorist organization by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation of February 14, 2003.
