For his crimes, David Carrick receives 36 life sentences, with a 32-year security period.

The former London police officer should therefore remain incarcerated until he is at least 80 years old.

"

You behaved as if you were untouchable, you are a danger to women

," accused the judge on Tuesday, February 7.

David Carrick raped, assaulted and harassed at least 12 women between 2000 and 2021, using his position as a police officer to further entrap his victims in an abusive relationship.

The police received a dozen reports during these twenty years and David Carrick's colleagues nicknamed him "

the bastard

 " because of his behavior.

During the trial, David Carrick's lawyers recounted his difficult childhood – alcoholic parents, a violent stepfather… The former police officer indicated that he had attempted suicide while in pre-trial detention.

The judge predicted a “

difficult

” incarceration for him.

The London police, already accused of racism and systemic sexism, had to apologize for not having spotted the dangerousness of David Carrick.

He was discharged from the Metropolitan Police.
