At RISE in Piteå, the new bio-based composite material that will replace fossil-based plastics and composite materials for a number of different industries in the future was tested today, not least in the automotive industry.

The product is stronger than all types of wood and plastics available, half as strong as aluminum but half the weight.

According to the researchers, it will be able to replace plastics, fiberglass and aluminum.

There is fifty times less impact.

It contains zero percent fossil carbon, says Anders Breitholtz, CEO of the company that now designs products from the material.
