In his appeal, the political scientist noted that the standard annual paid leave is 28 days.

The labor law states that vacation can be divided into parts, but one of them must be at least 14 days.

At the same time, according to Orlov, this norm can be burdensome both for the employer, who may have problems with the rotation of personnel and duties due to the prolonged absence of a key employee, and for the employee himself, for whom the preferred option is to share the vacation, for example for four periods of seven days.

“In this regard, I ask you to consider the issue of the advisability of amending the labor legislation in terms of the abolition of the rule on the mandatory presence of a 14-day vacation period when it is divided,” the appeal says.

Earlier, the State Duma proposed to introduce leave for military conscripts with children under seven years old.
