She noted that in recent years the BRICS countries have made significant progress in the field of financial and economic cooperation, as well as in the monetary sphere.

At the end of December, Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune expressed hope for joining the BRICS in 2023.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with RT Arabic, said that Algeria is among the leaders among the contenders for joining the BRICS.
