The United States announced that it will provide Ukraine with new military aid worth $2.2 billion, including GLSDB bombs to be installed on missiles for the American HIMARS launchers.

It has a range of 150 km.

The new weapon enables the Ukrainian forces to target the rear lines of the Russian forces, especially on the difficult battle fronts.

The range of this American weapon - called "GLSDB", short for its full name (Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb);

That is, the small-diameter bomb launched from the ground - up to 150 kilometers;

That is, about twice the range of HIMARS missiles that reached the Ukrainians previously.

These bombs can fly around terrain or artificial barriers to hit targets behind mountains, and even behind a target positioned behind the launch vehicle itself.

Despite the insistence of Ukrainian officials on the need to expedite the delivery of such weapons, and their warning of a massive Russian attack, as they say;

The Pentagon stated that the delivery of these bombs would not take place before months due to production dates, and its statement did not include reference to the quantity that Kyiv would receive.

The components of the US military aid package also included artillery shells, as well as mortars, machine guns, anti-mine vehicles, anti-tank missiles, and other equipment that Washington relied on to help its ally Kyiv confront the Russian army, which started a war in Ukraine nearly a year ago.

Meanwhile, Ukraine is waiting for its Western allies to deliver combat tanks, in addition to its ambition to obtain fighters such as the F-16.
