Referee consultant at Halland's football association: "Risk that the threats could turn into violence"

The shortage of referees is great across the country and even Halland's football association is struggling to recruit and retain referees.

The fact that threatening situations occur in football stadiums contributes to the problem.

- There are those who don't think it's worth it, says Jörgen Ahlgren.

Last year, even before the incident with the referee Sami Dalali, Halland's football association had identified that measures are necessary and started the initiative "A respectful match environment".

The project will be stepped up this year.
