Stano also stated the need to remain vigilant so as not to miss possible attempts to circumvent the restrictions by the Russian side.

He stressed that Brussels could take additional measures against states that help Russia circumvent sanctions.

Earlier, Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party, welcomed the possibility of resuming direct flights to Russia.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has stated that she opposes the resumption of flights to Russia.
