Kendrick Lamar, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift are also among the favorites of this 65th ceremony which brings together a large number of renowned artists.

Among them, Bad Bunny, Lizzo, Steve Lacy or Mary J. Blige.

Leading the nominations this year, popstar Beyoncé in nine categories, then rapper Kendrick Lamar with eight nominations.

Briton Adele and American folk-rock star Brandi Carlile are neck and neck with seven nominations each.

The ceremony, presented again by comedian Trevor Noah and equivalent, for music, to the Oscars, must come to cap a year 2022 full of albums with great success, including “Renaissance” by Beyoncé and “30” by Adele .

The two discs will face each other in the most prestigious categories, six years after a duel which had turned to the advantage of the second.

Beyoncé vs Adele

In 2017, the British artist crushed her competitors in the main categories, winning five awards with her album "25", at the expense of the Houston-born singer, whose album "Lemonade", now a classic, had had to settle for the Grammy Award for "best album of contemporary urban music".

On stage, Adele paid a rousing tribute to 'Queen' Beyoncé, and the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which hands out the awards, was once again accused of relegating artists of color to the background .

According to the specialized magazine Billboard, the Grammy Award for "best album" would rather go to Beyoncé and Adele would win that of "best song of the year" with "Easy On Me".

Nevertheless, the surprises of previous editions invite us to be wary of predictions.

Whatever the outcome, history is on for Beyoncé: With the nominations for this edition, she equals her husband, Jay-Z's record as the most nominated artist in the history of these awards.

And if she is already the female artist with the most small golden gramophones, the 2023 edition could well allow her to take the lead for good and overtake conductor Georg Solti with the most victories.

A wide open "revelation of the year" category

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, an artist who achieved significant commercial success around the world in 2022, is nominated in three categories, including "best album" for "Un verano sin ti".

It is the first album entirely in Spanish to compete in one of the queen categories.

Taylor Swift, coming from country and become a huge popstar, could finally win a Grammy in the title of the year category with the long version of her "All too well".

A track released in 2012 but re-recorded with enough differences for it to compete again.

And after several years in which the favorites were pretty clear - Olivia Rodrigo, Megan Thee Stallion and Billie Eilish - the race for "Breakthrough of the Year" is wide open for the 2022 Grammys.

Among the artists named, we find the Brazilian Anitta, the Italian rockers Maneskin, the rapper Latto... So many artists made famous by TikTok, which has become a breeding ground for revelations.

The group BTS, stars of K-Pop on break, is also in the running.

The Academy, composed in particular of authors, composers, sound engineers, has also named a whole series of artists already well established in the music industry, including Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson and ABBA.

After a memorable show at the 2019 Grammys, singer Brandi Carlile will return to the stage, and this year is racing in several top categories.

She recently told AFP to be "overjoyed" for all these nominations, "especially because the Grammys are like family, it means that other musicians think I did a good job this year".
