Inflation and the high cost of living are increasingly influencing the consumption habits of the French.

This can be seen in the leisure activities to which they turn, such as "indoor" activities which are very successful, both in terms of the diversity of choices and their accessibility, to the delight of parents!

This Saturday marks the first day of school holidays in Grenoble, Lyon or Dijon.

This is the opportunity to indulge in neglected activities when classes resume, for lack of time and sometimes money.

At the start of the year, still marked by inflation and the high cost of living, those who have chosen not to go skiing or sunbathing are trying their hand at so-called “indoor” leisure activities, indoors in French.

And the activities that can be practiced sheltered from bad weather are diversifying: between children's playgrounds, laser games, escape games, trampoline parks, virtual reality or even bowling... everyone can find what they are looking for!

The results of a SPACE-OpinionWay survey also show that these activities are among the top 3 favorite leisure activities of the French.

A good way to escape while controlling your budget and the indoor trampoline is the perfect example.

Like Jeanne's son, many children and teenagers love it, especially since this pastime is quite affordable, with a budget of around 20 euros per person to be expected, and very often close to home.

"It doesn't come with all the extras we can have during the holidays. But it's true that during school holidays, often, it's always an outing that we like to do together and which allows us to live some special moments with a budget that is still under control”, concedes the mother of the family.

The French increasingly fond of "indoor" leisure

Like Jeanne and her son, the French are more and more fond of leisure activities that can be practiced indoors, especially after two years of Covid, synonymous with isolation, and in the face of inflation.

They actually make it possible to satisfy all desires, according to Livio Miglioli, manager of a multi-leisure space in Nancy: "People need more and more to escape. We can just let off steam physically - we have trampolines for that. , we have laser (game) -, only intellectually with escape games, with virtual reality. Indoor leisure activities, in fact, are a solution of simplicity. We have indoor leisure activities in town and at budgets that remain affordable. ".

The manager's figures are proof of this, since last year the number of visitors to his space increased sharply: +18 to 25% compared to 2019, the pre-Covid year.
