During the fall of 2022, a nurse in Västerbotten stole medicine for her own use.
The woman is said to have changed patients' medical records and taken out more medicine than the patients were prescribed.
- It was discovered through the routines we have around medicines, says the municipality's head of social affairs.
The thefts happened gradually.
After the discovery of recurring thefts, the nurse has been reported to the Inspectorate for Care and Care, IVO.
- The person is not on duty at the moment and we continue to handle the issue based on our routines.
The nurse is now at risk of being dismissed according to the social manager.
According to the report to IVO, there is no indication that any patient was harmed.
