French Foreign Ministry: Paris is in favor of maintaining an open channel of communication with Russia

According to her, French leader Emmanuel Macron is calling his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at the request of the head of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and also in coordination with allies in order to maintain a channel for dialogue.

“The fact that we keep this communication channel open is important,” Legendre said in an interview with RTVI.

Earlier, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre called for a dialogue with Russia on Ukraine.

Emmanuel Macron also stated the need to maintain the possibility of dialogue with Russia.
