Last Thursday, the US House of Representatives voted 218 to 211 to expel Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee, and the question is why?

Writer John Schwartz says in an article on "The Intercept" that, according to the decision, the reason for this was that "Ilhan Omar, with the greatness of her tongue, denied herself a job on the Foreign Affairs Committee."

The resolution listed 4 of her statements, and took pains to point out that all of these statements were condemned by fellow House Democrats as anti-Semitic or anti-American (whatever those words mean in current politics).

The writer referred to what Elhan said about herself the day before yesterday, that "this discussion today revolves around who will be an American. And what opinions should we embrace to be considered Americans?" And she said, "I am a Muslim, I am an immigrant ... Is anyone surprised that I am targeted?"

For her part, Democratic Representative Alexandria Cortez said, "One of the things we should talk about here is the targeting and racism against American Muslims... It is about targeting women of color in the United States."

Conservatives cannot acknowledge the obvious fact that modern societies are run by mega-corporations and the super-rich, because they work for them.

In turn, they are forced to devise illogical explanations for the way the world works.

The writer criticized the declared logic of the Republican Party as pure nonsense.

He explained that it is not fair to say that anti-Semitism is the last thing the Republican Party cares about, because the last thing it cares about is racism and wealth inequality.

He commented that anyone can make an argument that anti-Semitism or something in the same vein is central to all conservative politics, and they need it to mask what it really is about.

He added that conservatives cannot acknowledge the obvious fact that modern societies are run by mega-corporations and the ultra-rich, because they work for them.

In turn, they are forced to devise absurd explanations for the way the world works, which almost always includes an imagined secret elite.

And the writer added, sarcastically, that the anger in America towards Ilhan Omar was greatly exacerbated by her failure to be a white Christian man from the indigenous people of the country.

He pointed out that the great hatred that Donald Trump showed towards her and her colleagues in 2019 is still widespread.

He concluded that IlHan is a truly brave character, who should be defended by everyone who appreciates honesty, and that doing so is the right thing to do, and because anyone with a similar affection for reality is also on their list, and he had better be sure that they will also reach him in the end.
