One of the planes experienced a severe disturbance in its movement while it was flying over China, and the passengers were terrified and terrified, according to the British newspaper "Daily Star".

A video clip showed the cries of passengers on board China Airlines flight CA8524, heading from Xi'an to Wenzhou, after the plane was exposed to strong air currents while flying at high altitudes.

In footage captured during the flight, screams of passengers can be heard in the cabin as the plane shakes.

One passenger told local media that he saw the plane's wings vibrate as the plane bobbled up and down.

Air China said that an investigation showed that the plane was subjected to short-term turbulence due to strong air currents, and that the flight crew dealt with the situation efficiently and in accordance with procedures that prevented further accidents during the flight.

According to the company, the plane landed normally at Wenzhou Longwan Airport, and there were no reports of any injuries as a result of the accident.

It is reported that in 2005, only 58 out of 800 passengers were injured when their plane was exposed to turbulence, most of whom were not wearing seat belts at that moment.

What are turbulence?

Turbulence is a weather phenomenon of instability in the air surrounding an aircraft.

The US Federal Aviation Administration states that turbulence can appear due to various conditions, including atmospheric pressure, strong air currents, air around mountains, cold or warm fronts or thunderstorms, and turbulence can occur even when the sky appears clear.

Clear air turbulence is the most annoying type of air turbulence that faces flights, because it is invisible and cannot be detected on radar, and it occurs when air masses that move at very different speeds meet, and are usually found at altitudes between 7 thousand and 12 thousand meters.

Air turbulence is measured and classified according to its severity into: mild, moderate, severe, and very severe.

And when the plane is exposed to turbulence, it can shake, as some of these turbulence may be light, and some may be violent, and in the event of turbulence, pilots can inform passengers to fasten seat belts because violent turbulence may lead to the removal of passengers from their seats.

How long does the disorder last?

Airplanes shake during turbulence and this is normal, and the duration of turbulence may be short or long depending on the condition of irregular air flow or turbulence.

Can planes crash due to turbulence?

Turbulence does not cause the plane to crash, although it creates a state of panic among the passengers, as the planes are designed to withstand all kinds of turbulence, some of which may seem violent and frightening.

Pilots receive special training to deal with all kinds of turbulence, and the only thing the passenger is required to do is to buckle up and stay calm until the turbulence ends.
