This was announced at a briefing by Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General of the US Air Force Patrick Ryder.

“We know that the balloon violated US airspace and international law, which is unacceptable,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Ryder clarified that China's meteorological probe is moving east and is located in the central United States.

According to him, the probe has "the ability to maneuver."

Earlier, the US State Department announced that the visit of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to China was postponed due to the situation with a suspected Chinese reconnaissance balloon detected in the airspace of the United States.
