The administrator of the Novy Vek Telegram channel was detained in a case of extortion

According to her, a petition was received to arrest Gusov until April 2.

The suspect has already been taken to court. 

The case is being investigated by the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow.

The website of the capital's head office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs says that in early February, a Russian businessman and philanthropist turned to the police with a statement about extorting money from him.

Otherwise, he was threatened to publish fictitious information discrediting his business reputation in the media space.

“The operatives established that illegal actions were committed by accomplices for several years.

During this time, the victim lost about 12 million rubles, ”the Ministry of Internal Affairs said. 

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement that, according to preliminary data, "one part of this amount was received by the head of the PR agency, and the other was transferred to the organizer of the criminal scheme, who is currently hiding from law enforcement agencies abroad."
