This was stated during a special briefing by a senior representative of the State Department.

"We will review and decide when conditions are right for [the secretary of state's] future trip to Beijing," a US foreign policy spokesman said.

According to him, Washington will work on this issue, "continuing to communicate with Chinese colleagues."

Earlier, the US State Department announced that Blinken's visit to China was postponed due to the situation with a suspected Chinese reconnaissance balloon found in United States airspace.

Prior to this, it became known that the US military had been tracking the alleged reconnaissance balloon over the north of the country for several days.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry later explained that the balloon did indeed come from China, but it was used for scientific research.
