NASA = National Aeronautics and Space Administration's probe, which continues to operate on Mars, has finished arranging containers filled with rocks etc. on the ground of Mars.

The container is planned to be brought back to Earth by another spacecraft in the future.

NASA's rover "Perseverance", which landed on Mars two years ago, has continued to collect samples such as rocks and sand with drills, etc., with the aim of bringing them back to Earth.

NASA announced that it completed the process of filling the samples collected by the rover into metal containers and arranging them on the surface of Mars at the end of last month.

The vessels are cylindrical with a length of about 20 centimeters, and 10 of them were lined up on the surface of Mars with an interval of about 10 meters.

A similar container is also housed inside the rover.

In the future, another spacecraft that NASA and ESA = European Space Agency are planning to send to Mars is planning to collect the container inside "Perseverance" or the container placed on the ground and bring it back to Earth.

It will be the first time in the history of Mars exploration if rocks can be brought back to Earth.

The main purpose of "Perseverance" is to search for traces of life on Mars at a point that is thought to have once been a lake, and the collected samples are expected to provide clues.
