The Liberal Democratic Party will start discussing concrete measures from the beginning of the week to strengthen countermeasures against the declining birthrate.

There are cautious opinions within the Liberal Democratic Party on the removal of the income limit for child allowances, which the Komeito and opposition parties are seeking, and it will be one of the focal points.

Regarding Prime Minister Kishida's aim of "countermeasures against the declining birthrate," the government is planning to put together a draft of concrete measures by the end of next month. We will start discussing specific measures, such as expanding public support and promoting work style reforms.

Of these, regarding the expansion of child allowances, Secretary-General Motegi has indicated his intention to unite the party in the direction of abolishing income restrictions, and from within the party, it is necessary to support child-rearing by society as a whole. I have a supportive opinion.

On the other hand, there are also those who are cautious about abolishing child allowances, such as those who oppose child allowances, which have no income limit, when they were in the opposition party, and that more support should be given to people in difficult situations than to those with high incomes.

The elimination of income restrictions on child allowances is one of the focal points of the Liberal Democratic Party's discussions, as the New Komeito Party and opposition parties are seeking early realization.
