She said this at a press conference in Sofia after a meeting with her Bulgarian colleague Rumen Radev.

According to the President of Hungary, she sent a letter to Zelensky about this problem.

“I did not receive an answer,” TASS quoted her as saying.

She stressed that 150,000 Hungarians live in Transcarpathia, for whom it is vital to be able to use their native language in everyday life.

“We insist on guaranteeing their rights, but the latest amendments to the law are a step in the wrong direction, depriving the Hungarian minority of the opportunity to exercise their rights.

Actions that offend minorities are taking place in Transcarpathia,” Novak said.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that ethnic Hungarians were being mobilized in the Ukrainian army in Transcarpathia.

He also noted that the Ukrainian authorities have never been partners of Budapest on the issues of ethnic Hungarians living in Transcarpathia.
