Senators propose to abolish fines for showing foreign films without a distribution certificate

“These changes will allow saving the industry without additional support measures from the budget,” the report says.

It is noted that the planned measures will also ensure the preservation of employment in the film distribution segment and the receipt of taxes and other payments to the budgets.

Earlier it was reported that discussions about compulsory licensing of foreign films are ongoing in Russia.

It was also reported that in January the volume of online ticket sales to cinemas in Russia increased by 7%.
