Major shortage of ventilation fitters in the country - the industry is trying to attract students in Skellefteå: "There are a lot missing"

It is the industrial boom in northern Sweden that means that the industry organization is now making an effort to attract junior and senior high school students in Skellefteå and Burträsk to choose the job as a ventilation fitter.

- The industrial investments in northern Sweden means that we have a real upswing with strong search figures for the vocational programs we offer.

It's about electricity, industry, ventilation and the real estate programs, says Malin Burström, who is one of the principals at Anderstorpsgymnasiet.

"Positive response"

Now Anderstorpsgymnasiet is also opening an opportunity to choose a clearer focus on ventilation within the HVAC program.

The students are then allowed to go to Katrineholm in certain periods for special education and they also have the opportunity for apprenticeships with local companies in Skellefteå.
