“Please give me back my cell phone.

“This request by SMS was sent Wednesday evening on the phone that a Toulouse policeman held in his hand.

The official had just found it on one of the two minors arrested by his patrol at the Jean-Jaurès metro station.

The confusing message arrived just as the suspects claimed the phone was not stolen.

But the police officers of the Departmental Service for Securing Public Transport (SDSTC) already had little doubt about the reasons for the presence of these two 17-year-olds, already known to their service, in the metro.

They had already been tracking them since, two hours before, at the Marengo-SNCF station this time, they had been filmed by the city cameras trying to relieve a traveler of her wallet.

The two pickpockets were taken into custody.

And the phone owner's request was granted.
