In detail, the UAE Cadres Competitiveness Council began implementing the new operational model, which was approved by its board of directors headed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors, to enable the council to play its required role for the next stage, and to continue to follow up on the implementation performance. Nafes programs, in addition to its strategic role in preparing and following up policies, regulations, partnerships, studies and strategic reports related to the work of citizens in the private sector, and campaigns to change concepts.

Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the UAE Competitiveness Council, stated that the Emiratisation targets in the private sector for the year 2023 aim to increase the employment of citizens in this vital and growing sector, and to encourage and increase the number of citizens participating in the initiatives and programs offered by the Council in cooperation with its strategic partners, in a way that contributes directly. In strengthening the companies’ commitment to achieving the targeted Emiratisation rate for the year 2023, which will not be less than 24,000 new job opportunities for citizens in the private sector.

Al Mazrouei indicated that Nafes succeeded in hiring 85% of the national cadres who recently joined the private sector in the companies targeted for Emiratisation, noting that the targets for hiring citizens with the partners of the Nafes initiative in the private sector are based on several requirements, standards and controls, including the number of employees. The actual number of citizens, and the type of job or training program offered to them, where any company from the private sector can contribute to "Nafes", by sharing job vacancies and training programs, without setting a specific number of jobs that can be offered within one year.

Al Mazrouei told «Emirates Today»: «The amendments that were made to the programs and initiatives of (Nafis) according to the new operating model, resulted in the comprehensiveness of Emiratisation in the private, banking, financial and insurance sector companies, while eight sectors were identified that were given priority for Emiratisation during the current year, including Commercial project activities, transportation and storage, communications, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water supply, hotels, health care, education and retail.

On the other hand, a census conducted by «Emirates Today» on the continued interaction of institutions and employers affiliated with the private sector with (Nafes) showed that 1007 companies affiliated with the private sector had recently joined the “Nafes” employment platform during the first month of this year, bringing the total number The companies that offer job and training opportunities for national cadres on the platform amounted to 7,744 companies, with an increase of more than 13% over the total number of companies that joined the platform since its launch in September 2021 until the end of December of last year, which amounted to 6,737 employers.

The growth of the industrial sector

The UAE Cadres Competitiveness Council attributed the huge increase in companies' registration on the "Nafes" platform to offer job and training opportunities to citizens, to the significant growth witnessed by the labor market in the country by local and foreign investors, as a result of the visions, directives and efforts of the leadership, and the presence of incentives supporting the growth of the industrial sector, stressing It seeks, as a strategic partner of the private sector, to provide opportunities and conditions for employers, in a way that helps them empower and develop the Emirati cadre, and its accession to the private sector, including the industrial field.

The council expected, on its official pages on social media platforms, an increase in growth and prosperity for many private sector establishments, which is a major engine within the wheel of the country's economic development, based on the legislative environment, the legal system and national programs that encourage the recruitment of Emirati competencies, in addition to a training and qualification support system. Emirati competencies in the private sector, and to continue supporting efforts to encourage private sector companies to register and join “Nafes”, as it is the main platform for attracting Emirati competencies and cadres.
