Regarding this, a spokesman for the Philippine Department of Justice told reporters on the night of January 31, "The Japanese side is requesting that all of them be handed over at the same time. However, three of the four are in court proceedings in separate cases in the Philippines, two of which are expected to be heard this week.



A Justice Department spokesman said that no extradition would be possible unless the court proceedings were canceled, but that they could schedule a date for the extradition of all four.



The Philippine government hopes to resolve the issue by the time President Marcos visits Japan next week. The focus is on whether an early extradition will take place.
