The Ministry of Health and Community Protection announced the service of evaluating health practitioners, including doctors of various specialties and allied health practitioners, with the “Metaverse” technology, which relies on digital and interactive reality in health care services, by enhancing the integration between the real, virtual and digital worlds within the framework of the UAE’s efforts to enhance Attracting and retaining talent in strategic sectors, and consolidating the country's position as a preferred destination for global talent.

The Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector, Dr. Amin Hussein Al-Amiri, stated that the Ministry has also introduced the latest innovative technology for medical thermal imaging, in the framework of enabling health care providers to use and employ the latest innovations, and the UAE is one of the first countries in the world to support this technology, and it will be available in State after completion of clinical studies with the manufacturer.

This announcement came during the press conference held by the ministry at the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference 2023, which is currently being held at the Dubai World Trade Center, where Al Amiri reviewed the advantages of the two projects.

He stated that the Ministry aims, through the service of evaluating health practitioners, including doctors of various specialties and practitioners of allied health professions, remotely on the three-dimensional “Metaverse” platform, to facilitate procedures, while ensuring data security using artificial intelligence, as this service provides several features, the most important of which is transparency. And adherence to the remote evaluation procedures, where artificial intelligence is used to ensure that the personal data and medical certificates of the applicant match.

He continued: «The use of this technology allows monitoring the movement of the eyes and analyzing facial expressions, to ensure the integrity of the procedures, and the three-dimensional platform that simulates the realistic assessment hall allows clear roles, as a special platform is provided for the jury, a special platform for the observers, and a platform for the exam taker, so the applicant can display Any documents during the evaluation, while ensuring the confidentiality and security of all data and records related to the evaluation.

He said that the ministry also aims, through this service, to meet the needs of customers in the three-dimensional virtual world easily and easily, while testing an interactive digital sensory experience, without actually crossing the distance between the two areas. This technology also provides a suitable solution for people of determination and those who are unable to move physically from Their homes to one of the building of the Ministry, and the end of their transactions smoothly, and for any person from outside the state.

Al-Amiri said that the most important characteristic of thermal imaging technology is the ability to monitor diabetic foot inflammation, enhance the ability to early diagnosis, monitor the site of surgery and early diagnosis of the risk of infection at the site of surgery, follow-up on facial temperature, and determine the psychological state, in addition to its use in thermal oncology by tracking Blood vessels attracted by heat-producing tumors, which facilitates the diagnosis and follow-up of the patient's condition.

Health cadres can use it within the package of medical imaging services, based on an innovative and unprecedented technology, presented in the form of a small camera, which is attached to a phone, in addition to the most widely used imaging techniques, such as x-rays, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, In addition to computed tomography.

The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention for the Health Regulation Sector, Dr. Amin Hussein Al-Amiri, affirmed the Ministry's keenness to attract, license and register advanced innovative medical products that support and facilitate the work of health care providers to diagnose diseases and improve the treatment experience for patients, by promoting the use of modern technology in equipment. And medical equipment, which contributes to enhancing the country's competitiveness by strengthening the regulatory and investment environment in the health field in line with international best practices.

He added that supporting thermal imaging technology in the uses of medical imaging comes within the framework of the Ministry's strategy to enhance the quality of health services, noting that the Ministry, local health authorities and the private sector are among the active and pioneering agencies in the field of attracting health and treatment services based on innovation and advanced technology to delight customers and enhance quality.
