In the clip, you can see what Uddevalla's politicians think about inviting Alexander Bard as a lecturer

They have been an infected tone between politicians in Uddevalla since it became known that the media profile Alexander Bard was invited to the municipality's vision days, which Bohusläningen previously reported on.

- Listening to different opinions is interesting and important in a democracy.

On the other hand, it is hair-raising that Uddevalla municipality invites a person who just a few months ago ran for the Riksdag for the misogynist party Medborgerlig samling, writes the board of Uddevalla S-women in an open letter to the municipality's political leadership.

At the same time, municipal councilor Henrik Sundström (M) defends the election.

- He is the best scout for the future in Sweden today, that is why we want him.

We cannot ban people from the profession just because they are not approved by S women, he says.

The municipality pays 60,000 for the inspirational lecture.

Previously cancelled

It is not the first time that Alexander Bard's role as lecturer has been questioned.

But last fall he was canceled at short notice from a conference organized by students in cognitive science at Linköping University.

He would then lecture on the brain in a digitized society.

The cancellation took place after students who had been critical contacted the organizers.

TV4 broke cooperation

Alexander Bard, in the 80s known from the band Army of lovers and later as a jury member in the TV program Talang, has been in several storms of criticism in recent years.

One was about a high-profile tweet in the summer of 2020 when he reacted to the black lives matter movement.

On the microblog, he wrote, among other things, that black people should "take hold of their lives" and stop living on benefits.

After a storm of protest on social media, TV4 chose to end its collaborations with him.

Alexander Bard himself told Aftonbladet:

- Such nonsense.

Tonality and etiquette are rubbish, others can discuss that.

I am discussing reality.
