Major General Jonas Wikman took office as head of the Air Force on December 14 last year.

Now he is out in the country visiting the operations of the Air Force's five flotillas.

- It has been a fantastic day at the Helicopter Flotilla.

Very important to get out and get to know the organization this early in my position, says Jonas Wikman.

The Special Aviation Squadron

Jonas Wikman is familiar with Linköping and Malmen from before.

Among other things, he has served as director of the Aviation Medical Center for a period in the 2000s and as director of the Tactics and Development Department during the years 2012-2014.

At the flotilla's special aviation squadron, there is concern that GlobalEye, the new reconnaissance aircraft, will not be stationed there.

- I really understand that concern.

The plane is a big and important addition for us.

You can hear more about how he views the visit and GlobalEye in the video above.
