The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Agency, Mohammad Islami, said that Tehran has a strong air defense system to protect its facilities and is ready to thwart any attacks, while Iranian sources said that the drones used in the Isfahan attack were entered from the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

In press statements reported by the Iranian News Agency, Salami said that the visit of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, to Iran needs specific goals and a clear program, noting that Iran has started operating an experimental production line for the production of stable isotopes, which is one of the parallel and alternative processes for the production of radiological drugs in the field of cancer. and thyroid treatment.

In another context, the Noor News website, which is close to the Iranian National Security Council, stated that the information indicates that the parades and explosive materials that were used in the Isfahan attack were entered from the borders of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

The site said that these pieces were introduced at the request of a foreign intelligence agency and with the cooperation of the Kurdish opposition groups based in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

He added that these pieces were installed in a workshop inside the country, noting that last July, elements linked to Kurdish dissidents working for Israel were arrested.

The site indicated that Tehran warned Baghdad at the time about the presence of these elements in Kurdistan, but it was unable to implement its obligations, according to the site.

Training camps

The Kurdish areas in northern Iraq include training camps and rear bases for many Kurdish factions that Iran has previously accused of serving Western or Israeli interests.

In November, Iran launched a missile attack across the border, and carried out marches targeting sites belonging to the Iranian Kurdish opposition in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, which Tehran accuses of fomenting the unrest that followed the death of the young woman, Mahsa Amini.

Last Saturday, 3 small drones targeted a military factory in Isfahan province, and the Iranian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the operation was thwarted.

The ministry said that anti-aircraft missiles intercepted the drones, which led to the explosion of two of them and the downing of the third, noting that the damage was limited to the roof of the factory without damaging the equipment.

An Iranian official told Al-Jazeera that the attack on a military facility in the Isfahan region in the center of the country with drones was launched from inside Iran, and said that preliminary investigations indicated that Israel was involved in the attack.
