On January 28, local time, when a police officer in Atlanta was performing routine inspection tasks, his police car parked on the side of the road was stolen.

The police and the car thieves then engaged in a desperate pursuit.

The helicopter footage showed that the suspect was driving a vehicle at high speed and was running wildly on the road, and the lights on the roof of the vehicle that were not turned off were also flashing. Fortunately, it was in the early hours of the morning and there were almost no other vehicles on the road.

But soon the suspect lost control and drove the car onto the train tracks at a fork, causing the front wheels to get stuck and the vehicle to roll over as a whole.

In the night vision camera, it can be clearly seen that the chassis of the police car is facing upwards, and there are bursts of sparks flying out of the front of the car.

Unfortunately, at this very moment a train was heading in that direction.

A large number of police officers immediately came to the rescue. Law enforcement video showed that several police officers smashed the window glass with crowbars and other items, and dragged the suspect in a red plaid coat out of the car.

The train crashed into a patrol car in the middle of the track just seconds after officers took the man off the track.

Police action averted a human tragedy just in time.

The 29-year-old suspect, Mikel Parker, was later detained in the Fulton County Jail in Georgia. He was charged with robbery, escape, reckless driving and other counts.
