New York University Abu Dhabi has announced the names of the students who have been selected to join the “Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Scholarship Program” for the academic year 2012-2013. The program includes courses in critical thinking, writing, and public speaking, and one of two semesters of political science, in addition to a two-part semester covering the politics that dominate the US presidential election and US foreign policy, and a semester on leadership, based on Taught by the Executive Director of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Scholarship Program, Dian Yu, where students test leadership theories, which provides them with an opportunity to meet leaders in the political, economic, technical and humanitarian fields.

Summer Academy Executive Director, Faculty Chair, and Vice President of NYU, Diane Yu, emphasized that the design of this program aims to be a platform for talented students from the United Arab Emirates to engage academically, in an independent manner, with the world around them, while empowering them in all it takes to interact as leaders of the future. in their chosen fields.

This year, the students underwent a competitive selection process consisting of three stages. They were chosen on the basis of their passion for intellectual and creative activity, their intelligence, leadership potential, and self-confidence.

It is noteworthy that the program is one of two community programs implemented by NYU Abu Dhabi.

The other is the Summer Academy for receiving distinguished high school students within the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Scholarship Program, who are students transferring to the 11th grade in Abu Dhabi secondary schools, and aspiring to study at the most prestigious universities whose curricula are taught in English.

The Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Scholarship Program was established in 2008 at New York University Abu Dhabi with the participation of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, in order to provide an opportunity for students affiliated with national educational institutions, who are selected, to go through a unique experience, in which cultures mix to help them expand their intellectual horizons.
