Peter Gerber, who has been head of Lufthansa Cargo AG for many years and was head of Brussels Airlines until Tuesday of this week, will become the new Chief Executive Officer of the holiday airline Condor on February 1, 2024.

He succeeds Ralf Teckentrup, who has been in charge of the holiday airline since 2004 and is about to retire.

Gerber was also entrusted with the function of general representative of the Lufthansa Group for European affairs.

As announced by the Lufthansa Group on Tuesday, he left the group on the same day.

Christina Foerster, board member of the Lufthansa Group, is said to be taking over the management of the airline on an interim basis.

Foerster worked there between 2018 and 2020 as head of the airline.

Born in 1964, Gerber held various positions in the Lufthansa Group for more than 30 years, including as a member of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines.

Teckentrup steered Condor through the most dramatic years with the corona pandemic, the insolvency of the parent company Thomas Cook and a failed takeover by the Polish PGL, until finally the investor Attestor acquired a majority stake in Condor.

The rescue of Condor was made possible because Teckentrup, together with the 4200 employees, raised savings potential, which was possible in order not to be dragged down by the parent company Thomas Cook through no fault of their own.

This also included a move to a modest headquarters in Neu-Isenburg.

Teckentrup actually wanted to retire earlier.

Because of the search for a successor, he had extended his contract.

He is now scheduled to hand over the chief post at the beginning of 2024.
