Today, Tuesday, the strike spread to the town of Jabal al-Mukaber, southeast of occupied Jerusalem, in rejection of the occupation’s decisions to demolish homes and facilities, at a time when Israeli military vehicles stormed the towns of Arraba and Fahmah, southwest of Jenin, in the West Bank.

Local Palestinian media reported that the town was closed with tires and oil was poured in the streets to prevent the arrival of the occupation vehicles and the implementation of any new demolition.

She added that the strike paralyzed all aspects of life in the town, including schools and the commercial sector.

The extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, issued instructions to initiate and accelerate home demolitions in East Jerusalem.

Last Sunday, the occupation forces, accompanied by military vehicles, stormed Jabal Al Mukaber to demolish a two-storey house under the pretext of not having a permit.

Hamas calls for mobilization

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on the Palestinian people to expand the strike and mobilization to confront "the massacre of demolition that the occupation intends to carry out in occupied Jerusalem, especially in Jabal Mukaber."

Hamas spokesman for the city of Jerusalem, Muhammad Hamada, stressed the need to "escalate the clash with the occupation forces" so that it spreads to all areas of friction in the West Bank and the occupied interior.

Hamada stressed that "defending Jabal Mukaber and clashing with the enemy today is important for defending Jerusalem and the male and female prisoners, who are subjected to the most heinous campaign of repression in all prisons."

Protests and popular strike continue to prevail throughout the towns and villages of #Jerusalem, which began several nights ago in a state of clash and popular demonstrations with the occupation, in rejection of the occupation’s policies, its collective punishment, and its intention to carry out demolitions that affect more than 100 homes in #Jabal_Mukaber, #Shufat, and others.#Stop_the_demolition_of_Quds pic.twitter.com/szHMPOzgD9
