A 73-year-old woman was attacked by two individuals who locked her up in her home in order to steal money and jewellery.

The facts occurred in Gonesse (Val-d'Oise), this Friday morning, reports La Gazette du Val-d'Oise.

As she was returning home, the septuagenarian came face to face with two hooded people, posted on her doorstep.

The criminals then pushed the victim into the apartment, putting their hand over his mouth so that his cries did not alert neighbors.

An open investigation

While searching the accommodation, the thieves got their hands on jewelry and 1,300 euros in cash and then fled.

The victim was held captive for several minutes.

Shocked but not hurt, she alerted the police.

An investigation has been opened to identify and find the two attackers.
