The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Ukrainian envoy on Monday.

The reason for this was the statement by Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Poldoljak on the drone attack on a military facility in Isfahan.

According to the Iranian media, Podoliak should explain Ukraine's possible involvement in the attack.

In his Sunday tweet, he linked the drone attack to Russia's war against Ukraine, writing that "the perpetrators and accomplices would be held strictly accountable."

Podolyak's comments came at a time when "Ukraine and its Western allies, who have pumped Ukraine completely with weapons, repeatedly claim that Tehran is providing Russia with drones for the war," Iranian media commented on the envoy's appointment.

Iran has not delivered drones to Russia.

They blamed Israel for the attack in Isfahan.

The "Octopus Doctrine" of Bennett

Several American media also reported, citing intelligence officials and other sources, that the attack had come from Israel.

The Pentagon spokesman said only that American forces were not involved.

On Monday, Tehran's media repeated statements by the Defense Ministry the previous day that the attack was thwarted by three mini-drones and caused only minor damage.

However, recordings showed a large fire.

The Israeli army did not comment on American media reports that the attack was Israeli.

If the attack in Isfahan came from Israel, it was the first such attack since Benjamin Netanyahu took over as prime minister there at the end of December.

His predecessor Naftali Bennett coined the "octopus doctrine": Israel should not only attack the tentacles of the Iranian octopus, i.e. Tehran's proxy forces in surrounding countries, but also the head of the octopus, i.e. Iran itself.

Security analyst and former head of Israel's military intelligence agency Amos Yadlin said he viewed the attack as part of a "major, long-term campaign" by Israel to weaken Iran's military capabilities "without any real escalation of war."

The United States may have known about the attack, Yadlin said in an interview with journalists on Monday.

He expects Iran to retaliate;

in what form, but be open.

Referring to the West's strategy towards Iran's nuclear program, Yadlin pointed out that a few days ago Israel and the US held one of their largest joint military exercises ever.

This is a signal that a "credible military threat" against Iran should be created.
