Yemen.. Houthi escalation of marches in Lahj and Marib, and an agreement regarding prisoners

Today, the terrorist Houthi militia renewed its bombing of the positions of the joint and southern Yemeni forces in the north of Lahj governorate, in addition to bombing agricultural areas and residential villages in the region, according to field sources, confirming the destruction of an "agricultural machine" for a farmer in the Karish area by bombing a Houthi march.

The sources indicated that militia attacks continued on the Karish fronts, north of Lahj, including the Dahi residential area, using booby-trapped marches.

In Marib, militias used booby-trapped marches to target army and resistance positions in the al-Akkad front on the outskirts of the eastern Balq district of al-Juba district in the south of the governorate, killing one soldier and wounding two others, according to field sources, indicating that the forces targeted Houthi movements in the area.

The sources indicated that the Houthi marches are constantly flying over the army fronts in the western and southern Marib fronts, in a remarkable escalation of the Houthis towards Marib from different directions.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Army directed the Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, to raise the high combat readiness of all forces stationed in the governorates of Ma'rib and Al-Jawf.

In Sana'a, the Houthi militia acknowledged the death of three of its prominent field commanders, two days after it acknowledged the death of 34 of its elements, including three field commanders, all of whom were killed in its combat escalation on various fronts since the beginning of this year.

In the western coast, field and local sources revealed that the Houthi militia had sent elements of the "ISIS" and "al-Qaeda" organizations to the coastal fronts, to participate in the preparations for an upcoming naval battle that threatens international navigation in the Red Sea.

According to the sources, the sending of terrorist elements to Hodeidah came after a joint agreement between the Houthis and al-Qaeda in the Yarim district, north of Ibb, according to which 17 members of the organization who had been in Jahran prison since the days of the previous regime were released.

On the other hand, the head of the UN mission in Hodeidah, General Michael Beary, confirmed the work on drafting a memorandum for the Yemeni and international parties, as a plan to facilitate work on demining, in the various regions of Hodeidah.

In Marib, the Executive Unit for the Department of Displaced Persons Camps in the governorate renewed its call on the World Food Program to expedite the disbursement of food entitlements to the displaced, noting that more than 56,000 displaced families in the governorate are in urgent need of food.

On peace, Yemeni diplomatic sources revealed that the negotiating parties continued to formulate an almost complete agreement on the prisoners, while communication on an agreement on the payment of salaries of employees was obstructed by the Houthis, who set new conditions in this regard.

She explained that the only obstacle to reaching a complete agreement on humanitarian files is the Houthi militia's intransigence in some of the terms of the agreement, and its evasion of the obligations required by announcing a new truce.

The head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alami, confirmed, during his arrival in Aden from Saudi Arabia, the commitment of the Council and the government to a comprehensive and sustainable peace approach based on the references agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally, and in particular Resolution 2216, once again welcoming all good offices in this regard.
