Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine needs long-range missiles in order to remove the threat of what he called "Russian terrorism", coinciding with the escalation of battles in several axes in Ukraine.

Zelensky added in a speech that his country will do everything in its power to ensure that its partners open this vital supply, especially the ATACMS systems.

For his part, the advisor to the Ukrainian presidency, Mikhail Podolyak, said that Ukraine is in negotiations with its partners regarding the provision of aircraft and long-range missiles as soon as possible, stressing in televised statements that Ukraine needs them to protect the armored vehicles provided by the partners.

Podolyak made it clear that his country needs to destroy the stores of Russian forces and artillery shells because they are their main tools, he said.

Solidar confrontations

On the ground, the Al-Jazeera correspondent quoted Ukrainian military sources as saying that the situation in the town of Oglidar, in eastern Ukraine, is difficult, but it is under control.

The sources said that the Ukrainian forces are repelling the attempts of the Russian forces to advance, and incurring heavy losses in Uglidar and the Donbass region.

On the other hand, the pro-Russian authorities in Donetsk described the fighting near Oglidar as violent.

It announced that the Russian forces were stationed in the eastern and southeastern parts, and now controlled the villages surrounding the city.

It pointed out that what hinders storming the city is the presence of an industrial zone used by Ukrainian forces as fortified sites, as they did in the salt mines in Solidar, and the "Azovstal" complex in Mariupol.

For his part, Sergey Chervaty, spokesman for the Eastern Military District of the Ukrainian army, said that Russian forces launched dozens of attacks on the town of Ogledar, stressing that the Russian forces suffered heavy losses.

On the other hand, the advisor to the Acting President of the Republic of Donetsk, loyal to Russia, Yan Ganin, said that Russian forces are currently stationed in the eastern and southeastern parts of the outskirts of the city of Oglidar, and that Russian artillery is paving the way for an invasion of the city in eastern Ukraine.

Attack on multiple fronts

Meanwhile, the Russian forces announced the elimination of about 180 Ukrainian soldiers during the past hours.

A spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, confirmed that the Russian forces continued to carry out offensive operations, which he described as successful, against the Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk, southern Donetsk and Zaporizhia axes.

In the Bakhmut axis, "Anna News" agency reported that units of "Wagner" began to invade the towns of "Krasnoye" west of Bakhmut, and Dilevka, south of the city.

The agency said that fierce battles were taking place inside the city of Bakhmut between the two parties, and confirmed the continued progress of the Russian forces in the north of the city of Solidar.

In turn, the owner of the "Wagner" military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that his forces took control of the town of Blahodatne, west of the city of Solidar.

On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russian raids on the city of Konstantinivka in the Donetsk region resulted in 3 deaths and 14 injuries.

The governor of the Donetsk region, Pavlo Kirilenko, had announced earlier that "the Russians bombed a residential area, and damaged buildings of 4 floors, a hotel, garages and vehicles."
