Iran earthquake.. 3 dead and more than 800 injured

The governor of Azerbaijan Province, western Iran, Mohammad Sadiq Motamedian, announced that the death toll from the Khoy earthquake has risen to three, and the injured to 816.

In a statement he made today, Sunday, Motamedian indicated that the latest statistics of the victims and injured in the Khoy earthquake that occurred last night, indicate that 816 people were injured and 3 others died in this accident.

He added, "60 earthquake-wounded people were transferred to hospitals in this city, and 64 people to health centers in Salmas."

He continued, "The Khoi earthquake, which occurred last night, caused damages ranging between 20 and 50 percent to housing units in 70 villages.
