According to foreign media reports, on January 29 local time, the German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall said that the company is preparing to significantly increase the production of tank and artillery ammunition to meet strong demand from Ukraine and the West, and may start production of Seahorse rockets in Germany.

  Rheinmetall CEO Amin Papperger said on January 29, "We (in the future) can produce 240,000 rounds of 120mm tank ammunition per year, which exceeds the demand of the entire world." He also said that the company's 155 The production capacity of the 2.5-mm shells could be increased to 450,000 to 500,000 rounds per year, which would make Rheinmetall the largest producer of both types of ammunition.

  The company's production of tank and artillery ammunition could be ramped up immediately, Papperger said.

He also said that a new medium-caliber ammunition production line will be put into operation in the middle of this year, which can produce ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft combat vehicle (Gepard) used in the Ukrainian battlefield.

  At the same time, Rheinmetall is negotiating with US arms dealer Lockheed Martin, hoping to obtain a license to produce in Germany the Hippocampus rockets used by the Ukrainian army.
