• Personal life Pelé and his most personal side: three wives, many infidelities, lovers and seven children

The widow of the legendary soccer player Edson Arantes do Nascimento Pelé,

the businesswoman Márcia Aoki, published this Sunday an open letter in which she said goodbye to the three-time world champion

exactly one month after his death and in which she also thanked the fans for their messages and tributes .

The letter was published on Pelé's own social networks, in a message that clarifies that it is the first publication in them since his death on December 29 and doing something that he would like: "say thank you very much".

"Saying goodbye to the one I love and getting used to not having the reason for my life by my side, his love full of affection, his unique humor and his complicity will take time...", said the widow of the man considered by many to be the best soccer player of all time and who died at the age of 82, a victim of complications from colon cancer.

Aoki, Pelé's third wife, whom she married in 2016 after four years of dating, regretted in the letter that

she did not have more minutes to exchange glances with her husband

and more minutes to play with Cacau, an inseparable dog that both considered as his daughter.

"Despite knowing that this is an inevitable destination for everyone, the realization that this moment has come to me is the feeling of an empty space, of absence, that presses on my chest," added the businesswoman.

Aoki also took advantage of the open letter to thank the hundreds of fans who still offer

tributes to Pelé today,

as well as the Santos club, where "o rei" was immortalized and in whose stadium he was fired.

"There is also another feeling, of strong gratitude for being able to share my pain with the whole world. We received millions of messages of affection and solidarity, which filled our hearts with comfort and peace," he said.

According to the widow, dividing life with Pelé was living a true story of unique love, just as it was dividing the footballer's love with the fans.

"

This love will never die and will continue between us. Eternally,"

she concluded.

Pelé was also married to Rosimeri Cholbi, with whom he had three children (Edinho, Jennifer and Kely) and to Assiria Nascimento, with whom he had two twins (Joshua and Celeste).

One of the last tributes to Pelé took place on Saturday at the Mané Garrincha stadium in Brasilia before the 56,000 fans who attended the duel between Palmeiras and Flamengo for the title of the Supercopa do Brasil and included the participation of Jennifer and Kely, as well as leaders of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
