Amanda's daughter Lillemor has turned seven months old and is quickly eeling around the floor in the apartment in Kortedala.

- She is so incredibly fast and she surprises us all the time, says Amanda Wigand, as fascinated as it is easy to become in front of a small child's progress.

The pandemic was a fact when Amanda became pregnant and the time after the birth worried her the most.

- I was very worried about being alone at BB with a small child – how should I take care of it?

I also felt a sadness that her father would not be there for the first time in her life.

Lillemor was born in May 2021, just a week or so before Östra sjukhuset allowed partners to accompany BB again.

- It was sad, but at least we knew it would be like that.

So we could prepare for it.

In the clip, she tells more about the treatment at the birth and how she looks at doing it again.

Great support at BB

There was no reason to worry about being alone with the newborn.

Amanda was tired after three days of pain, and the staff at BB took Lillemor for a few hours so that Amanda could sleep.

She also received a lot of support regarding breastfeeding.

- In terms of personnel, I thought it worked very well.

I got great help with the practical part, but it was hard to constantly long to go home to my partner.

And the first day you want to be totally present, she says.

She believes that the fact that Sweden was just over a year into the pandemic may have contributed to the staff getting a routine of how they should work.

- At the same time, I really think there needs to be an investment in maternity care, maybe I was just lucky.
